The issue is indeed with the Global Shift (if not right, you'll lose accuracy). And in your case, you'll lose accuracy anyway because it will happen at loading time (if you don't apply a Global Shift) or at the translation time (because the command line mode won't suggest you to impact the Global Sh...

The 3DFin plugin is accessible via the 'Python plugin', so you have to go to 'Plugin > Python plugin > Plugins > 3D Forest Inventory'

Can you simply hide the cloud? (or did I misunderstand your question?).
Also, you might be interested in using the 'Point list picking' tool if you want to select multiple points on a particular entity.

Do you mean that you want to register different scans with a small overlap? If yes, then you should look at the ICP tool (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/index.php/ICP). Pay attention to the 'overlap' parameter.

Which version are you using? In older versions, the 'sensor' part of the PCD file was ignored (i.e., when the entity was transformed, the sensor was not updated). Now in the latest 2.13.x versions, it is correctly updated. So either you need to upgrade CloudCompare, or if it's the latest version, th...
