Orbit - lock Z axis parallel to the view

Hello, I'm new to this forum. CloudCompare has been useful for a few of my projects, so thanks to the developer !
Here's a suggestion to improve the orbit tool: I would love the possibility to lock the Z axis parallel to the view. I'm aware of the "lock rotation about an axis" option, but it is too restrictive as once I lock the Z axis I can't adjust the camera angle up or down. And if I don't use it at all, the camera tends to end up in an awkward angle, which is unpractical especially for leveled data.
(There's this topic that seems to talk about it already : https://www.danielgm.net/cc/forum/viewt ... =14&t=2289 but the beginning looks cut so I figured it would be appropriate to make a new one)
