Re: Out of memory while doing merge
OK good to know - maybe a slightly more explanatory message would be appropriate?

Out of memory while doing merge
I have some pretty large jobs involving 50 to 100 scans of 60 million coloured points each, for a total of 3 to 6 billion points per job. I'm exploring various techniques to winnow this data down to something of the order 1.5 billion points. I attempted to merge all of them together but ultimately f...

Re: Puzzled by GPU behaviour
Daniel, I've now used this version and can report it works fine. 2 comments: 1. When you click on [Display]>[Reset all VBOs] it generates a console message: You might want to disable the 'use VBOs' option in the Display Settings to keep the GPU memory empty however there is no such option that I can...

Re: Puzzled by GPU behaviour
Daniel,
Would I be right is assuming the suggested solution in your second post in this thread would be a pretty minor one?
If so what would be the likely ETA?
Thanks again

Re: Puzzled by GPU behaviour
Daniel, You say "It's just not easy since we don't have any information about the (available or total) GPU memory via OpenGL." When CC is launched (and the option to use the GPU is checked) would it be possible to flood the GPU dedicated memory (say in small blocks) until it fails - then d...

Re: I would like to see some simple usability changes
Actually this change spec was very poorly conceived, a much simpler one is: CASE 1: Apply Transformation tool (ctrl-t) o Panel appears where it was used last time NOT in middle of work area (right over where I'm working). o When OK tapped: ....o Panel does not disappear. ....o Selected item/s are mo...

I would like to see some simple usability changes
I'm using CloudCompare on a major project and find I am repeatedly doing some things that some simple changes in the UI would really facilitate. CASE 1: Apply Transformation tool (ctrl-t) o Panel appears where used last time NOT always in same position right over where I'm working. o Panel does not ...
