A new software for classification of 3D point clouds
Hi everyone, I'm note sure if it's the right place to post this information (Daniel, feel free to move the topic or even cancel it if you find it's innapropriate). With Nicolas Brodu, we have developped an open source software that automatically classifies 3D point clouds according to their loacl ge...

Re: segmentation
Hi, in a sense it's already possible ; use the min-max function on the scalar field menu, and you'll segment your cloud according to the value attached to the chosen scalar. Now if you mean to use something else (like a gradient of the scalar or some kind of front propagation using scalar informatio...

Re: We've lost multiscalar saving in ascii file (and bin)
Ascii file is perfect for me right now. I'm really looking forward for the next release for myself, but also for others in the Earth Science community. I was recently at the European Geosciences Union in Vienna with 3 presentations on our lidar work, and in each of them, I advertised Cloudcompare a ...

Re: We've lost multiscalar saving in ascii file (and bin)
Ok,ok, I'm getting old ;-) ...maybe I dreamed that CC was actually exporting all the scalars, but I'm 95 % sure it did so at some point. Anyway, that's definitely something important given that more and more people are dealing with point clouds with multiple scalars.

We've lost multiscalar saving in ascii file (and bin)
Hi Daniel,
I've noticed in the latest build (it was already there in a few before but I don't remember exactly) that ascii file and binary file saving is only recording the first scalar (or the displayed one, note sure) and ditch all the others....quite annoying !

Re: Signed Cloud/Cloud distance using Normals
Hi all, indeed we have a beta version of a code dedicated to cloud2cloud comparison that solves many of the problems discussed in the forum (and in general) when trying to compare point clouds without knowing the normal and without doing any post-treatment on the data (meshing, gridding that can be ...

Re: Various little bugs in the latest version
HI Daniel, thanks. Allez, un p'tit pour la route : . The "precision" box for the scale does not appear anymore (only square size and font size). . Any chance you could remove the limit on the max color sat value so that it can be set to any value ? . And the little bug when only 4-5 color ...

Various little bugs in the latest version
Hi Daniel, on the 13/12 version : . When a cloud with a scalar is segmented, the scalar is not properly transferred to the new cloud (a unique number is applied to all points in the new segmented cloud). . The same if you filter the cloud according to its scalar values. All scalars formely attached ...

Re: Bugs when loading files in the latest version
Thanks Daniel ! Being able to choose the precision of the numbers in the scale is excellent,as well as the log scale I've noticed a small bug with the scale when displaying negative and positive scalars (there's no problem when it's only positive) : if you choose a small number of color ramp interva...

Bugs when loading files in the latest version
Hi Daniel,
thanks for the recent efforts ! Unfortunately I'm not able to give you any feedback as I'm not able to load a single ascii file in this new version.
Same OS (win7 64bit), nothing changed.
Cheers
