Hi,

I have a question regarding the alingment od point clouds. Is it possible to align two ponint clouds at a specific distance and then measure the difference?

Statistical Analysis of comapred objects

Hello CC community, I am a new user of CC and must say that its a very usefull tool. I have a very basic question. I want to compare two obejects in order to ensure that my design (autocad object) and 3D printed entity are similar. I am able to import both in CC and compute the distances. My questio...

Alignment/Transformation Matrix

Hello, Maybe the question had been discussed before but i am unable to find some concrete post regardig that. I am new to the CC. I would like know how one can analyze that the alignement of 2 objects is very good. Are there any paramters in CC which give an idea whether the aligned object is fitted...

Re: Comparing stl data with cloud point

Hello All, I rechecked my data as i though that migh be due to the measurements done rather than scale issue. And i found out one of the encoder values were not in sync with other data. And that leads to the different scales. After removing that error. I am able to register both models. Thanks for t...

Re: Comparing stl data with cloud point

Hi,

I am still not able to properly scale the two models (stl and cloud point). I tried to align both models which seems to be working but the scale seems to be out of sync. I dont understand why this issue as i have scanned the exact same model as shown in stl file. Any ideas?

Thanks

And i printed that model with a 3d printer and scanned it using a panasonic distance sensor. I am tyring to compare both models to see...

Point cloud to surface

Hi, I have a basic question regarding working with cloud points in the software. I have a text/csv data containing x,y and z coordinates. When i import that in cloudcompare i got scattered points. Can i buid a surface from these points or the cloud density is so low to build one? Short info about th...

Data format for cloud point

Hi, I am very new user of cloudcompare, as a matter of fact just installed the software. I am scanning a suface using Panasonic distance sensor (Z cordinate) mounted on two linear actuators with encoder (encoder values x,y). I am getting this information (x,y,z coordinates 10000 points) in CSV forma...
