calculate vertical obstruction
Hi! it's been a while since my last post.. I am bumping my head on a new information I would like to extract from the whole point cloud/mesh. Sometimes the area of interest (in my case a vertical escarpment of natural origin) has some overhanging areas. These zones cast a "rain shadow" und...

Re: qfacets dip classification
I tried, it did a great work on classify the families according to their dip direction, but doesn't look like it classifies them according to dip. Or I am missing something?

Re: Points and point lists graphic visualisation
I was about to send you a screenshot before I read your comment. What I am doing at the moment is put point size between 5 and 16 and add a constant scalar field for each ascii file, and play with different colours. I will do what you suggested, which is easier. Anyway the graphical output of points...

Points and point lists graphic visualisation
Hi, I am curious if cloud compare can help me visualising points with for example different colours or shapes. I have a point cloud and some lists of markers as txt ascii files in the same coordinate system of the point cloud, let’s say points ‘A type’ and point ‘B type’. Do you have any suggestions...

Re: Exporting georeferenced mesh
Thank you for the reply! I will share how I resolved the issue, it is a bit different than what you suggested. I guess I missed something. But anyway: -when one first opens a point cloud or a mesh with cartographic coordinates the global shift/scale box dialogue appears. There you can choose to pres...

Exporting georeferenced mesh
Hi Daniel, I have one question. In order to give you some background I will write what I do and what I want to obtain. I have a georeferenced and classified point cloud according to vegetation/ground, now I want to calculate the total surface occupied by vegetation. In order to do that, I firstly di...

calculate dip angles greater than 90°
Hi, I have a point cloud of a natural cliff. First I calculated normals oriented using Minimum Spanning Tree, then I converted them to a Dip/Dip direction scalar field. The resulting scalar field goes from 0 to 90°. In my case I would like to create a scalar field which preserves the negative-greate...
