Please Help: Faro Scene and Cloudcompare Transformation

Post by cuatcside »

I have got couple of scene scans in faro scene that have been aligned together.
First scan has position (0,0,0) and rotation (0,0,0) and orientation axis as (1,0,0) and scanner position as (859.182393 -755.743635 8.076533)
2nd scan has position as (-0.00708,-0.00566,-0.00116) and rotation angle as (0.001961,359.999913,359.997798) and rotation axis as (0.665 -0.03 -0.746) and scanner positions as (859.175312 -755.749293 8.075374)

I know that i can export both of these scans (already aligned) to cloudcompare but that's not my question.

My problem is: I have my 2 individual scans before aligning in faro in cloudcompare and I need to apply the transformation/rotation that I got from aligning them in faro scene so they are aligned again in cloudcompare just like in faro scene.

because I have both rotation axis and rotation values in faro scene I am confused how they can be converted to values so I can apply to transforrm and rotation in cloudcompare.
I would appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Have you tried to play with the 'Edit > Apply Transformation' tool? The second tab has some similar parameters (rotation axis, rotation angle, translation).
