Hello All,
I assume my question has been formulated before but I don't seem to be able to find the response to my question.
I have been unsuccessfully trying to obtain the median distance along the Z axis (not necessarily the shortest path) between two point clouds. Note that I'm not interested in a solution presented as point cloud but rather a histogram with numeric values or maybe a short statistical report. Is this something that CC can provide?
Many thanks and best regards
Isaac

Well, you can use the 2.5D Volume Calculation tool, that will give you exactly the vertical distance per point (if you use the right parameters of course, and you export the result as a cloud --> 'Export grid as cloud').
With the resulting 'raster' cloud (with the vertical distance as scalar field), you can either use the 'Edit > Scalar fields > Show histogram' option of CloudCompare, or export the cloud as an ASCII/text file and open it in Excel, Matlab, etc.
