Version 2.7

Post by daniel »

The version 2.7 of CloudCompare has just been released!
  • support of the newest operating systems (Windows 10, Mac OS 10.10 and Ubuntu 16.04)
  • better rendering of big point clouds thanks to a new LOD mechanism, better reactivity, much faster Cross Section tool, etc.
  • support for NVidia 3D glasses and the Oculus Rift headset (on Windows with the Stereo version)
  • loads of improvements and bug fixes
And it works on Windows, Mac OS and Ubuntu/Debian.

Here are the release notes:

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for this release, I can't wait to try out the new octree but unfortunately, I cannot open the win64 7z archive.

Could you add an md5 checksum to allow verification of the downloaded file ?

Have you installed 7zip?

Otherwise you can use the installer.

I'm using 7Zip 15.14, I can't use the *.exe as it needs admin rights (or a 5-year procedure)

Weird... I use 7zip 9.2 and it works well.

I made another attempt to download the archive and this time, it worked. The previous ones must have been corrupted, an md5 sum would still be useful

now I'm going to test the new LOD :)

Hi Daniel,

Is the support for Oculus limited to the CV1 or is this also available for the DK2?

I used the DK2 to develop it.
