Mesh

Post by chughesfish »

Hi I am new to Cloud Compare so please forgive any stupid questions. Recently I have undertaken some high definition sonar scans of a bridge structure and I am now trying to use the data to identify any areas where defects occur. I am able to bring the data in and I was trying to create a mesh of the data , however every time I try this the software crashes, what am I doing wrong. Also is there a workflow for doing this procedure and is this the best way to depict data in high definition.

Thanks in advance.

What meshing tool are you using? And what version of CC? (on which OS?).

A crash shouldn't occur anyway (apart for some old buggy versions).

Can you try with a much more recent version (2.7 or at least 2.6.3)?

And is the point cloud big?

Ok, I will try with a more recent version, about 6.5 million points in the full file but I have tried with a smaller file also.

Yep, it's not that big. A newer version should work without any issue.
