I have a point cloud of trees within a square plot of 20m* 20m. I want to show the height of each tree in a colored tabulated format.
is it possible?

Is there a way to colour a point cloud similar to using the height ramp but for the intensity values, or any scalar field?

Well, you can indeed use the Color Scale Manager (http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... es_Manager) so as to get a similar rendering for any scalar field (and with any values - you may have to use an 'absolute' color scale to achieve this).

I'd tried that but it didn't change the display.

I found the Color Scale -> Current option near the bottom of the preferences window where it's necessary to select which scale to use for the point cloud soon after posting. The manager is just the database of available options.

Well, you can also create new color scales with the Manager. And once you create them, they are automatically set as 'current'...
