Does cc support polyline visualization?

I was curious: do CC allow the visualization of some sort of 3-d polyline format? If so, what formats are supported? I'm trying to bring a line network into cc to visualize along with a point cloud. Thanks!

The ".poly" format is the simplest one (just one vertex of the polyline on each line as 'X Y Z').
Otherwise you have more complicated formats such as SHP, DXF, etc.

What exactly is the most important difference between those formats by the way?

Poly is really simple and can only store polylines (no color, no other types of entities, etc.). While DXF and SHP are much more evolved (and used by a bunch of other applications).
