PCD pointcloud file displays as perfect grid.

I opened a PCD file that is from a LiDAR scan. When I open the file it displays as a perfect vertical and horizontal grid no matter how I tilt it or how much I zoom in the points are always DISPLAYED as a perfect grid and always vertical and horizontal. When I pick a point it will pick points as if they were between the "Grid" and seem to be correct numbers. It is just the display that is hokey. I typically use las files and this is the first .pcd file.
