Hi guys,
i'm working on a point cloud data. The workflow i hope to realize is basically like this: Recap --> E57 file --> CloudCompare --> las file
The data was originally processed in Recap. In order to convert it into a LAS file, i exported it as an E57 file in Recap and then import the E57 file into CloudCopmpare. But now i cannot export it as LAS file. The export options dont include las file formate.
The point cloud data need no more editing. Does anybody knows why, or how can i export it into las file? Thanks in advance!
cannot export e57 to las file
Re: cannot export e57 to las file
Which version are you using?
LAS should be supported at least on Windows and macOS for most of the recent versions...

Re: cannot export e57 to las file
Dont know if your question is still valid but I had the same problem just now...and i found your post...and than I found an answer (at least for me)
When you open a e57 in CloudCompare you see in the DB Tree a structure like this:
Folder Pointcloud.e57 (c:/...)
.......Folder "File Structure"
.......Scan 001
.......Scan 002
.......Scab 003
...and so on
So when you select the Folder (Pointcloud.e57) and click save you only have a few export option. But when you click on a scan you have much more options to choose (including LAS).
So I merged all the Scans and then it worked fine...maybe it helps you as well (or someone else who stumble upon this post in the future)
