Invert lighting surface

Post by mankoff »

Hi,

My model is being lit from the wrong side. When I aligned two meshes (using the 3-point selection method) one of the meshes appears to have become inverted. I've tried selecting "Invert Normals" but it is still lit from the back. The other cloud appears illuminated from the correct side, so this doesn't appear to be a global lighting issue, but a local cloud issue. Do you have any clues/advice how to change the lighting?

Thanks,

-k.

This happens when the transformation matrix issued by the registration tool is wrong (i.e. in a non-direct order, typically one of the dimension is inverted relatively to the 2 others). This is generally due to a wrong pairing: either two points/pairs are inverted or the picked shape is mirrored.
