Feature Request: Orthogonal Polyline Drawing in CloudCompare
Dear CloudCompare Developers,

Please add a feature to draw polylines with precise 90° or 180° constraints. Suggested methods:

Shift key snapping – Holding Shift while drawing to lock the line to 90° or 180°.
Numeric input – Allow users to enter exact X, Y, Z coordinates or angles.
If this feature already exists, could you let me know how to use it? Thank you!

This request was written with the assistance of ChatGPT.

For the context, are you referring to the 'Trace polyline' tool?

yes.
I need to draw straight poly line using x, y.

in my work,
I wanna attach compass(or arrow to north way) on my topview of 3d Model

I'm using attach dxf file.
but It's not comfortable. so I just wanna draw a line on topview.
It is possible on another 3d model program like Rhinoceroes 3D.

Ok, sadly it's not possible, and I am not sure Trace Polyline is meant to be used like that (it normally 'snaps' the polyline vertices to an existing point of the cloud).

This looks like a different tool. But of course, anyone motivated can implement such a tool in CloudCompare.
