This tool is accessible via the 'Edit > Scalar fields > Convert to RGB' 
menu.
Description
Simply converts the active scalar field to a RGB color field.
When calling this function on a cloud that already has RGB colors, CloudCompare will ask whether the scalar field colors should be mixed with the existing colors.
If yes, then the two color sources will be blended together.
If no, or if the cloud has no RGB color yet, the colors assigned to the points are exactly the ones visible on the screen at the time the method is called. Therefore the rendering won't change.
Notes: - CloudCompare will automatically hide the scalar field and activate the RGB field instead. - the original scalar field is not modified nor deleted.
